12.11.20 NEW PIECE AT ROYAL GLASGOW INSTITUTE OF THE FINE ARTS SHOW

 

Just completed this month, video work Breath's Imprint will be showing as part of "Interactions of Colour" at the RGI Kelly Gallery from 5th December - 29th January.  Update: Owing to increased COVID restrictions in Glasgow, the exhibition has now moved online.

 

30.10.20 WORK SCREENING AT SALT GALLERY

 

Video work Ballygunge Phari (2017) will form part of the Glasgow collective's "Essential Forms" exhibition, showing from 5th-14th November.

 

15.10.20 BALLYGUNGE PHARI TO SHOW IN KOREA IN 2021

 

2017 video work will screen at the exhibition "Light" at the Czong Institute for Contemporary Art at Gimpo, South Korea, from the 21st April - 9th May 2021.

 

20.04.20 TECHNOLOGY AND TRADITION CONFERENCE POSTPONED

 

The continuing Coronavirus pandemic has resulted in the rescheduling of talk “Harnessing the Obsolete in Contemporary Art Practice.  This will now take place in Manchester on the 5th June 2021.

 

24.03.20 PRESENTATION OF WORK IN PROGRESS POSTPONED

 

Owing to the Coronavirus pandemic, the Storytelling and the Body conference, scheduled for Bratislava in July, is now planned to go ahead in Lisbon in September.  Update: Now rescheduled as an online session in March 2021.

 

21.03.20 BANGKOK EXHIBITION CUT SHORT

 

The ongoing pandemic has unfortunately caused the early closure of "Studies in [E]motion and Time".  Many thanks to all at Bridge Art Space for their hard work putting the show together and we look forward to hopefully resuming the exhibition before too long.

 

12.03.20: KOLKATA SHOW POSTPONED DUE TO CORONAVIRUS.

 

"Brought To Light, A Figure Study by Paul Holmes", will now not be opening on Friday as originally planned, owing to imminent Coronavirus lockdown in India.  The exhibition, at AM Studios, Kolkata, will be delayed till later this year.

 

05.03.20  LIGHT WORK TO PREMIERE IN KOLKATA

 

AM Studios is the site for the first showing of new work, Figure Study in Light.  The exhibition, Paul Holmes’s second solo show in the city, is curated by Ayan Mukherjee and will run from 20th March – 18th April.

 

26.02.20: SOLO EXHIBITION IN BANGKOK

 

"Studies in [E]motion and Time" will show at the Bridge Art Space from the 14th March – 18th April.  The show is curated by Bongkok Earn Chansri and features video and audio works made between 2015 and 2017.

 

05.02.20 STORYTELLING AND THE BODY CONFERENCE IN BRATISLAVA

 

Returning for the second year to this conference, this time to speak about new work in progress,“Self Portrait in the Form of a Geometric Net”

 

04.02.20 MANCHESTER TALK: “HARNESSING THE OBSOLETE IN CONTEMPORARY ART PRACTICE”

 

Talk at the Technology and Tradition conference at the city's Futureworks on the 5th June.

 

19.06.19 INTERNATIONAL FORUM FOR CROSS MEDIA ART AND DESIGN SHANGHAI

 

The artist will be delivering a keynote speech “Video Art as a Tool of Aesthetic Investigation” at this conference at the SUES School of Art and Design on the 21st October.

 

20.03.19 KOLKATA-THEMED PIECE TO SHOW IN SHANGHAI

 

Video work Ballygunge Phari will form part of “Fusion”, an extensive group exhibition of Edinburgh and Shanghai-based artists at Shanghai’s Songjiang Art Museum from the 23rd October – 3rd November this year.

 

08.03.19 STORYTELLING AND THE BODY

 

New work in progress, Figure Study in Light will the subject of an artist’s talk at the Storytelling and the Body conference in Verona on the 16th July this year.
